Today I wanted to share with you all a little review on something I have really been loving, and that is Maybelline New York's BB cream. I sent off for a sample of this product, so I don't actually have a tube, however I know that I will be buying it very soon.
In case any of you don't know what a BB cream is, it is Blemish Balm, which originated in Asia. It is a multi-functional cream that has coverage and skincare properties. It acts as a primer, whilst giving light coverage, like a tinted moisturiser and hydrate your skin like a day cream. Some even have an SPF and promise soothing, healing and anti-ageing properties. For more information on BB creams check out Cosmopolitan.
This is the packaging which the samples arrived in, which I think is cute. When bought it comes in a tube, which I think is cute too. |
I got it in light, and although that looks really dark it blends nicely. I used the whole packet, but depending on how much coverage you like, you might not need that much. |
This does exactly as it says on the tin and I will definitely be purchasing this. It goes on really smooth and is also easy to work with. It will never give full coverage, however you can apply more to give a medium coverage if you so wish. I do wear concealer with this, but only on my under eye circles.
It doesn't feel like you are wearing anything, and I, personally, don't feel as if it looks like you are wearing anything, which is nice, because I don't really like to wear make-up any more.
I like that it has an SPF, because in the winter I don't wear any, and I know that I will be wearing this throughout autumn and winter. I know that this is designed for summer, however I like to let my skin breathe in summer.
Another thing that I like about this is that it is so quick to apply, it will literally take me 5 minutes to do my make-up in the morning if I am wearing this for university in October.
You can buy this for £7.99 from Boots and Superdrug and is available in 4 shades, so I'm sure you will find one to match your skin tone.
I hope you enjoyed this review. Have any of you tried this before? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Ooo this one looks so good - I recently bought the new Witch BB Cream and have been loving it (although it only comes in one shade so I might have to give one of the lighter coloured Maybelline creams a try!)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on it looking natural/like your not wearing makeup and not being heavy on your face like foundation!

Ooh I didn't know Witch did a BB cream; is it for acne prone skin?
DeleteI definitely recommend this one if you need a lighter shade, particularly if the Witch one is only available in one shade, as I personally tend to find those too dark, and I remember you saying you had super pale skin too.
Have a beautiful day
