Spring Clean - Diet and Body

Hey girls, I was going to do my Instagram post, but I decided that this would be a better post for you guys.

As you all know I am re-doing my 'Spring Clean' and I'm kinda loving it. Last time I did this, I did diet and body separately, but I kinda feel it would be more productive for me to do them together, so that's what I'm doing.

My diet is so crazy right now, and I really want to be healthy so I decided I would clean it up, however my mum has planned one meal for us this week which is very processed (it's pizza) but today and that one meal, will, hopefully, be the only times I eat processed foods. I'm also organising some exercises to do on a daily basis, as well as working on the outside of my skin, so I'm super excited about that.
If you want to do this along with me, then here are the rules (combined)

  1. No fizzy drinks
  2. Limit coffee and tea to 1 each a day (preferably no coffee, which I haven't had for a couple of days)
  3. Drink 1-2 cups of fruit/herbal tea a day
  4. Drink at least 1 litre of water a day, 1 cup of hot water a night, and 1 cup of lemon water each morning
  5. Have at least one piece of fruit or vegetable with each meal, and try to only snack on fruit and vegetables
  6. Allow 1 treat a night
  7. Do a Pilates workout each morning
  8. Do one extra workout each day, i.e. running, zumba, aerobics etc, leaving one day for rest (Sunday for me)
  9. Do a relaxing yoga routine before bed each night
  10. Continue my 'Prepare for Summer' routines: hairfacehandsbody/skinlegs, and feet

So that is the rules, and I know it is a lot, but remember that it is 2 things in 1. I hope you all enjoy this week and let me know how you did. I will be updating you guys next week, and maybe giving tips on how I stayed motivated (if I have any).

I will be doing my updates on last week, over the next couple of days, so look out for those.

Talk to you all later

I am a horrible blogger!

I am so sorry I haven't blogged for a few days, but my internet has been so etchy lately. I don't know if it because we have a problem with our connection, or because of the crappy weather we have been having in Britain lately.

I don't even really know what this post is going to be about, but I really wanted to write something, so this will just be a chatty post, which I know you all love ;D

Yesterday the weather was pretty nice (for once) so me and my mum decided to tidy up the garden, because it hadn't been done in a while. I have never mown a lawn or cut a hedge before in my life, but it turns out I am pretty good at them. The only problem is, I cannot start the lawnmower to save my life; I have, like, no upper body strength, so my mum had to start it for me every time it stopped. I'm so proud of me and my mum for doing the gardening, and I wish we could've finished today, but unfortunately we live in Britain, and we have really bad rain. Hopefully it'll stop raining in the next  few days and we can finish tidying the garden. I really want a pretty garden, you know with lots of colourful flowers? but we have a dog who likes to dig, so I'll have to wait until I have my own place before I can have a pretty garden. I mean I'm pretty lucky, we have a nice sized garden and if it wasn't for the dog, we could have it looking gorgeous, maybe like this:

Oh yeah, I could easily have a garden like that :-P I do like that garden, but clearly that is a public garden and I couldn't have that unless I became very rich haha. Even if I did have a garden like that, there is no way I could keep it  up, my muscles are in enough pain as it is just from doing my garden haha.

That is definitely something I want to work on this summer, my muscle strength. I am so grateful I have about 3 months to do all the things I want to do without the interruption of school work. I'm really hoping to get into shape, get a job and learn the ukele and I'm rather excited about it. First I want to finish the two books I am reading at the moment, but hopefully I can finish those by Tuesday, and then I can really get into learning my ukele :-)

Right, I am off to clean my make-up brushes and drink more water, because I feel incredibly dehydrated right now, hopefully I'll be able to talk to you all tomorrow morning before I go to a barbecue in the afternoon. I know, a barbecue in this weather probably isn't the best idea but it'll still be fun.

I'll try and post my 'Smiles' post later on, if my internet holds up.

Until then

Things that made me smile today

Hey girls, I hope you all had a wonderful day. I am exhausted so I am not going to do the other 2 posts I planned for today, but they will be up in the next couple of days, so check back for those.

Anyway onto what made me smile today:

Song:
I didn't actually listen to much music today, so I thought I would share with you the worship song I am loving at the moment, and it is one which we have been singing during me Evening Praise (EP) at church 2 weeks running.

Quote:
I think everybody needs to be reminded once in a while to not try and please everyone, because it won't work, which is why I love this quote.

Picture:
This picture is adorable and made me laugh, so I knew this was the one I was going to share with you all.

What made you smile today? Let me know in the comments below

In and Out - June

Hey girlies. I know, I know 3 posts in 1 day, what is going on? Well I did say I had a few posts planned for today and you still have 3 more after this ;D
As it is the beginning of a new month, I wanted to share with you all my Ins and Outs of the month. I really do prefer to do this rather than a favourites post.
In:
  1. Summer! – I am finished school and I have a long summer ahead of me
  2. Clear skin – my skin is clearing up so well, and I love it. Now to get rid of this blackhead in the middle of my forehead
  3. Organization – as you all know, I love to organise, and now I have all of this free time, I am able to do it whenever I want
  4. A new bag – I had been wanting a new bag for a while, and I finally got one and I am in love with it. I will be doing a ‘What’s in my bag’ post very soon
  5. Finishing things – I have kind of become obsessed with finishing up products, but that doesn’t mean just beauty products, it means everything! I don’t know why but I want to use up everything I own, including food and drink! I am not allowing myself to buy new packets of certain foods and drinks (mostly tea) until I finish them up, as I feel like they might go to waste
  6. TV online – I found a website where I can watch all my favourite TV shows and I love it. I have become obsessed with Sabrina the teenage witch again and am constantly watching it

Out:
  1.  Summer weather – it is so cold and dull, it has been raining on and off for weeks. I miss the sun
  2.  Energy – I have been so tired the past few weeks, I don’t know if it is because my body can finally relax, or if it is because I didn't really get much sleep over exam season and it is finally catching up on me, but I do know I really need energy again
Well that's it for this month's Ins and Outs. What are yours? Let me know in the comments below, I would love to know

Check out my other posts from today:

And I hope you are all having a beautiful day, whatever you are doing. I’m off to my youth group to talk about the wonderful things God does

My month in Instagram

Hey girls, I got a new phone last month and was finally able to download a couple of apps that I had wanted for a while but were incompatible with my old android. The first app was .... INSTAGRAM! I was so excited to get this because I do like to take pictures and I have become obsessed with it, so I wanted to share with you all, what I have instagram'd this month.

As you can see, I pretty much Instagram anything and everything. I'm thinking of doing this weekly rather than monthly because I do Instagram a lot. Tell me if you would prefer this or would prefer less pictures but on a weekly basis.

Oh I just realized that I haven't told you what my Instagram name is. It is Britishrandomness, so please feel free to follow me, I follow back :)

I hope you are all having a beautiful day

New Years Resolutions update

Hey girls, hope you are all well.

Today I wanted to share with you how I am getting on with my New Years Resolutions. I know I said I would do this every month and only did it for 2, but you all know why.

Anyway my resolutions were:

  1. Follow my skin care routine day and night.
  2. Brush my teeth every day and night.
  3. Take my vitamins everyday.
  4. Eat cleaner/healthier.
  5. Exercise at least 3 times a week.
  6. Work harder at school and work, so I can get into university.
  7. Read 6 books by the summer holidays.
  8. Appreciate all that I have more often.
  9. Do something that scares me at least once a month.
  10. Learn to play the ukulele.

  1. I have been doing pretty well on this one, there was a couple of mornings and nights when I was so tired I fell asleep without washing my face (like last night) or got up too late to do it properly; but overall I have been keeping to this and my skin is pretty clear, apart from a few blackheads
  2. This is the same as number one, there have been nights where I just fell asleep without brushing my teeth but I always brush my teeth in the morning. In fact, I don't talk to anyone until I have brushed my teeth, so it is always the first thing I do in the morning
  3. I have pretty much got this down. I did seem to miss a few days last month, I'm not really sure why, but I think I'm back on track. I take them right before I have breakfast which means I always remember to have them
  4. This one has been on and off the last couple of months, because I live by the 'Stressed is Desserts backwards' thing. I am a HUGE comfort eater and even though I did try really hard to eat healthy, some days all I ate was junk food
  5. Exercise has been hard but I did exercise slightly everyday by walking for, roughly, half an hour a day; this was added to by having my school bag with me. However I don't feel like it was enough, but I am 100% getting back into it from today, in fact I've already done a half an hour run today
  6. As you all know I was working pretty hard. I did get distracted quite a bit but overall I feel like I did my best
  7. I did this! I am actually in the middle of reading my seventh book and am hoping to finish two more before everybody else breaks up for summer (seeing as mine started earlier ;D)
  8. I've said this before, but this one is hard to know if you are succeeding or not, but I know that I am trying, I swear I am trying
  9. I think exams are enough scaring for one person, don't you? Other than exams, I haven't done anything, but I will try to do this one again
  10. I haven't done this at all, but with a long summer ahead of me, I only have two goals: to get fit and to learn the ukele, and to be honest, I am excited!
Well that's it, I hope you enjoyed this post. How are you all getting on? Let me know in the comments below. Remember to never give up!

Remember to check back later, because I have more posts planned for today!

Talk to you all later

Have a beautiful day

Happy July!

Hey girlies, happy July! I hope you are all well.

Today I wanted to share with you all my next 'Spring Clean' challenge! This one is to clean my mind and basically make myself happy. I think that this one is such a great one for everyone to do, because if anyone is feeling down, all you have to do is change how you think. I know that it can be hard to begin with which is why I want to start off by doing a few simple things a day which will really improve my mood, and if you guys join in, will hopefully change your mood too.

Here are the rules if you want to join me:

1. Journal at least once a day
2. Listen to songs that make me smile
3. Read inspiring quotes
4. Look at pictures that make me smile
5. Read my bible everyday (this one is obviously optional, but recently I have been reading my bible about 3 times a day and it has really put me in a great mood)

That is it! Simple enough really; and like last time I will be sharing my quotes, songs and pictures with you guys every night right before I go to bed.

Let me know how you are getting on with your 'Spring Clean' and be sure to check back tomorrow for your next challenge.

Also, today I was planning on doing a few post in honer of the new month, but time really got away from me today, so I will be doing those throughout the day tomorrow, the first one will be posted at 8am, so be sure to check back then.

Talk to you all tomorrow

Spring Clean again?

Hey girlies, I hope you are all alright. I can't believe it's been a week since my last post, I lost my internet, then had multiple things going on this week which meant that I couldn't post anything.

I planned and wrote a blog post re-doing my 'Spring Clean' series but my internet cut-out when I was half-way through and I lost most of it. So I thought that I would re-write it, even though the update is due tomorrow.

During my exams/very stressful months, I didn't completely end up un-organised, I mean my desk was still the same. There was areas that I felt got a little bit messy and my desk needed to be re-organised for summer, which is why I thought I would do this again.

I'm not finished so I will continue this into next week and do the rest of the 'Spring Clean' this week, which will allow anyone who wants to join in, join now and not be left out. It would be great if some of you did this with me, as I am one of those people that get motivated by others, and I would love to motivate you all too.

This rules for this week are simple: organise one area of your room or if you live alone, organise one room a day, take picture and share your tips and how you did next week.

I will be giving you each a new thing to add to your 'Spring Clean' each day, so check back for that.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and please check back tomorrow, or hit the follow button for more posts.

Talk to you all tomorrow

Have a beautiful evening/day/night

Random haul

Hey girlies, hope you are all well.

I went shopping on Thursday with my mum and thought I would share with you what I bought :)

First I went to Primark, simply for the tiger onesie. It is the comfiest thing I have ever worn and it is so warm! I'm wearing it right now and it feel great. I has a tail and a hood with a face on it, which you would think would get in the way when your sleeping, but it doesn't. I like to wear it with a t-shirt on underneath because I don't personally like having anything zipped up all the way, so a t-shirt just covers my boobs/cleavage. If you want one you'll find it in the men's section for £12, and you can buy different animals, my friend has a monkey, and there was a penguin and a dragon when I went :)
I also bought a new bag. I had been looking for a new one for a while, but one that was under £15, simply because I am poor. This one was £9 which is a bargain! Every bag I have bought from Primark, for the past 2 years has lasted me so long! I have one that I could still use if I hadn't scuffed it, from 2 years ago, and my school bag was from Primark, and that is still usable too, so I know that this one is going to be great value for money.

Next I went to Superdrug to buy a few things that I really needed. I got Garnier Nutrisee ultra colour hair dye in frosted chestnut. This is the brand and colour I have been using since I went dark last August and I love it! It smells amazing and last ages. It also makes your hair feel so soft as well!
I picked up a new toner, which I will be sharing in my skincare routine post.
I got a base coat which apparently fills ridges and helps strengthen nails, so I think I will do a review on that.
I also bought Nivea Essential Care lip balm, simple because I love this lip balm and am constantly buying lip balm.
Finally I bought a new night cream. I had ran out of both my night cream and night serum a while ago and hadn't been able to find anywhere that was selling it. I think the entire night range must have been discontinued. Anyway, I was researching night creams, that weren't designed for ageing skin, and wasn't super-duper expensive and found this one. It is the Vitamin E night cream and it was only £2.99, so I bought it. However I went into my next, and final shop, and you'll never guess what I found!

That's right, I went into Poundland and found my night cream and night serum! So, of course, I had to buy them! I've given my Vitamin E night cream to my mum, because it does, apparently help with ageing skin, so if you would like a review of that I will get my mum to test it out and let you guys know.
I also bought an ice cube tray, because I don't want to keep buying ice, and I want to start making smoothies.
The final item I bought was an antacid tablets, because my mum had heartburn. That purchase wasn't essential to show you but I just thought I would share it with you guys, because I am super open on this blog :)

Well, that's all for tonight. Have any of you bought any new purchases recently? If so, show me in the comments below :)

Talk to you all tomorrow

Hey girlies, this post is going to be very short, but it is just a post to make up for not posting last night.

The reason I didn't post anything is because I didn't know what to write about. I have all of these great ideas, but they take some preperation so until I am able to actually do those posts, my posts will probably be doing random chatty posts.

I want to know if you guys have any requests for me to write? Please don't request reviews on new products because I actually don't have any money to go and buy them, although I really wish I could.

I am also going to give you guys a list of posts I would like to do, and it would be really helpful if you could say whether or not you would like them. Also give suggestions for names of series?

  • Make-up collection
  • Blog sale
  • Book reviews (name suggestions?)
  • Organisation (name suggestions?)
  • Health/diet (name suggestions?)
  • New Years Resolutions update
  • Ins and Outs
  • What's in my bag
  • Holiday series (name suggestions?)
  • Update Skincare routine
  • My Saturday night routine
Please let me know if you would like to see these posts, and if you have any requests, please please let me know.

I do know what I am doing for tonight's post so I will talk to you all later

Have a beautiful day

Prepare for summer - Your shopping list

Hey girlies, I hope you are all well :-) I've had a pretty great day, ya know not having to revise or worry about exams :-)

Remember my 'Prepare for summer' series? Well, I never finished it, and now I feel that it is too late to continue it. However, I thought that there was one post I had planned which I can still do, and that is a shopping list of all your summer essentials!
So lets get started:

  • Everybody needs some basic denim shorts. You can either go short, or long, distressed or plain, either way all styles look great on everyone. Mine are a simple plain pair that ends mid-thigh, which I feel isn't too long, but it isn't so short my bum is on show, but like I said whatever style you are comfortable with will look great. Plus they can be dressed up or down
  • Basic vest tops. Why wouldn't you want basic vest tops? They are perfect for wearing to the beach, or at a festival, and, again, can be dressed up or down
  • Sandals/flip-flops. These are super comfy and are super practical. They let your feet breath and you can get a tan
  • Sunglasses. It is important to get a pair that suit your face shape and have a UV protection of 100% to protect your peepers. When trying to find a pair to suit you, don't be afraid to look in the men's section, sometimes your face just suits those styles better; my best friend got a really cute pair from the men's section and they look great on her
  • A swimsuit that suits your body. I typically got for bikini's but recently I've been loving swim-dresses, and really want one, as they look good on everyone; especially the ones with ruffles and cinches in at the waist. They are also great for those who prefer to be more covered up
  • Lip balm, preferably one with an SPF in it. Just like in winter your lips can dry up in the summer, but they can also burn, which is why it is good to get a balm with an SPF. I am obsessed with lip balm and am constantly buying them, you can get some for as little as 46p from Home Bargains so you have no excuse for not buying any ;D
  • Sunscreen! This one is obvious, but many people still don't wear it and it is essential! I recently got badly burned because I wasn't wearing a high enough SPF, and UV protection, and I have really damaged my skin, so that night I went and bought the Nivea sunscreen for babies which has an SPF of 50+ and because it is for babies it has a lot of UVA and UVB protection. Obviously you don't have to get one designed for babies skin, but make sure it has an SPF of at least 30, and high UVA and UVB protection. Click here, here and here for extra information on Sunscreen and why you should wear it

I hope that this was helpful to at least one person. If any of you have summer essential that isn't on this list, please let me know in the comments :-)

I am thinking of doing a festivals essentials post, would that interest any of you?

Oh and just because I'm no longer doing 'Prepare for summer' post, I will definitely still be doing plenty of summer related posts, so please keep checking back

Talk to you all tomorrow

Have a beautiful day/night

I'm back!

Hey guys, how are we all? I cannot believe how long it has been since I have done a post for you guys! I have genuinely missed writing my posts, but I am back now.

This is just going to be a short post because it is late and I am up early tomorrow, but I just wanted to update you all on my life basically.

Obviously I have been incredibly busy with my exams, and I haven't really stopped since March, but I am finally finished and it feels so great! I have so many posts planned, starting with my final 'Prepare for summer' post. I did plan on doing more posts in that series but my exams and coursework kinda took over my life and I now feel that it is too late to do any-more on it, other than the post I am doing tomorrow. I will also be updating you guys on my new Years resolutions within the next couple of days because that was supposed to be done every month.

I read the Fifty Shade series and I can honestly say that the series is amazing. I'll be honest and say that it isn't very well written, but it still sucks you in. I'm not planning on doing a full review on it as I don't know the age range of my readers, and it is definitely a bit saucy for under 18s and I don't really want to encourage those who are under-age to read it. I will also say, I feel like there is too much hype around it considering the writing isn't very good, but I suppose it's like Twilight and all of that hype (after all it did start as Twilight fanfiction). If you want me to go into more detail about it and my thoughts on it, let me know in the comments and I'll be sure to do that, with a warning in the title

I will be trying so hard to post something everyday, although I am away for a week at the end of July, so I don't think I will be posting anything during that week, but other than that I should have some time each day to write :)

Well that is all for now. I am so excited to be back, and I will talk to you all tomorrow :)

Love you guys

Have beautiful dreams/ beautiful days

How to .... Procrastinate

Hey all, wow I feel like I haven't been on here in so long! I have just been so busy the past few weeks and it isn't going to slow down any time soon. I have finished 2 pieces of coursework last week which was such a relief, but I still have 1 piece left and my first exam is a week tomorrow so I am still incrediablly stressed. I should be revising right now but as you can see, I'm not. I wanted to update you guys on my (not-so) exciting life. Which I have just done.

Ooh I saw The Avengers last night and it was amazing! I love superheroes and saw Iron man and Captain America for the first time on Friday and fell in love with both of them. Captain America is my favourite out of the 2 but Iron man is so close. I'm definitely going to see The Avengers again, I'm seeing it again with a couple of my friends and I might be seeing it with my parents at the end of the month. I am so excited to see it again, it feels like Harry Potter all over again.

I finished my third book yesterday, 'A thousand splendid suns' and it was amazing. I completely recommend it to all of you. If you want I'll do a proper review on it at some point. I'm now reading 'Fifty Shades of Gray' which I'm enjoying so I'm thinking of buying the other 2 books in the series, which are on offer in Tesco, 2 for £7 which is really good.

Well I had best get back to revision. Sorry for the lack of posts and for this post not being very well written.

Hopefully I'll talk to you all soon.

March Ins and Outs

Hey girls so I know that this is a little bit late, but I have only just realized that I haven't done my In and Outs for last month! Silly Kim.

In:

  1. Studying. As you all know I haven't really had much motivation to study lately, but in the past month I have really gotten back in to it.
  2. Reading. I've been reading a bit more this past month, not a lot but more than in February
  3. Clearer skin. I have been loving how my skin has cleared up. It looks great and I feel more confident because of it.
Out:

  1. Wearing a jacket. The past month the weather has been warm and I have been able to get away with only wearing a hoodie. Unfortunately though it has changed and is now very cold :(
  2. Having energy. Since getting back my motivation for studying I have lost some sleep, which is unfortunate, but I think I should really get used to that, seeing as I have a lot of coursework to do and exams to revise for.
  3. Having a life ha-ha. Same reason as my energy ha-ha. Although the past week I have planned a bunch of things for summer, so I will have a life again in a few months ha-ha
What are your Ins and Outs of March? I know I don't have many but I really didn't do much exciting things last month :(.
I hope you all enjoyed this post and don't forget to leave me your Ins and Outs.

Also, I will be doing a blog sale in the next couple of days, would any of you be interested in buying from me? The products have hardly been used, and I am trying to get rid of a bunch of things. Let me know if you would buy, because I don't want to set it all up and no-body buy.

Have a beautiful day girls and DFTBA

Spring Clean - update and a new week

Hey beauties I hope you are all well.

This week was quite easy for me I found. As you know I read quotes, looked at pictures and listened to happy songs every day. I journalled everyday too, which was good. I found that doing that was the best way for me to get rid of any negative feelings I had at the time. I plan on keeping these up as they really did change my mood. I will still blog about them if you like.
How did you guys do this week?

For my next 'Spring Clean' I thought I would work on my body. I know what you're thinking, 'Why fix the outside if you haven't fixed the inside?' Well, in my mind doing it this way will work better for me. Plus I have been slowly cleaning up my diet.

I only have 4 goals this week but they are:

  1. Continue each of the body tips I shared in my 'Prepare for summer' series, feetlegshair, face, hands, and body/skin.
  2. Do an ab workout everyday
  3. Do yoga every night
  4. Continue my calf-raises in the morning and my squats at night
So that's my goals. Are any of you doing this? If so what are your goals? Good luck girls.

Prepare for summer - Hair

Hey girls, another week, another way to prepare for summer. This week I am going to talk to you all about your hair.

To me your hair should be natural in the summer. Perhaps with a few highlights a couple of shades lighter than your hair colour, although the sun will do this for you.

I think in the summer hair looks nice when it has been shaped around your face like in the picture above. To me it is perfect summer hair.

If you have naturally wavy hair, you are lucky, as I believe that wavy hair, particularly beach waves, are perfect for summer. Although you can achieve these by using salt spray on damp hair and scrunching if your hair is naturally straight. Or you could put your hair into plaits/braids and leave them to dry.
I tend to not use much heat on my hair, especially during summer. What I suggest doing is, getting your hair styled and to stop using heat. Your hair will be healthier and look gorgeous.
You can use products if you like, however I chose not too, as my hair is naturally wavy anyway. Besides I love the completely natural look.

I know that this was a short post, but I didn't really have many tips other than not using any heat on your hair. I will start doing hair of the day posts, so you can see my favourite summer hairstyles, but that won't be for another couple of weeks.

I hope that this post was useful in some way for some of you. And if you have any hair tips, please let me know.

Now that I have done the entire body, I will be moving on to clothes, accessories, and make-up over the next few weeks. So please check back if you are interested in those.

I have been obsessed with Lady Godiva since Alex Day first put out the song. However today I was listening to some of the remixes and find this one rather funny.
