Kim's book corner - Everybody's normal till you get to know them

Hey girls, I hope you're all well.

Sorry about the lack of posts lately, I've been doing a lot of assignments, so haven't really had much of a chance to do much else. I've spent so much time staring at a computer screen that when I'm not working I switch it off, and pick up my book, which gives you yet another book review :-)

I hope you enjoyed this review. Let me know what you thought in the comments below, and if you've read it, what did you think of it? Did you get anything from it?

Have a beautiful day

Valentines day tag!

Hey girls, I hope you're all well.

Happy valentines day! I hope you've all had a lovely day. Mine was just another day, because I am single, but it's ok.
Anyway, I decided I wanted to do the valentines day tag from ElleandBlair.com, and I tag all of you to do it too.

1. What is your favourite Valentines Day treat?  Heart shaped chocolate, because what girl doesn't love chocolate, and I love hearts
2. Sweethearts or chocolate covered strawberries? Chocolate covered strawberries. I've never tried Sweethearts, I don't think you get them in the UK, plus you can't go wrong with chocolate.
3. What was your favourite Valentines day memory? I've never had a Valentine, so I don't have a valentines day memory because I treat it like any other day.
4. What movie would you rather watch on Valentine's Day: Pretty Woman or You've Got Mail? I'm gonna be honest and say I've never watched either of these, but I want to watch Pretty Woman the most, so I'll say that.
5. What celebrity would you not mind having as your Valentine? There are so many celebrities I wouldn't mind having as my Valentine, but if I have to pick one, I'll say Luke Bryan because I am obsessed with him right now, and he is HOT
6. What would you do on your perfect Valentine's date? I think it would have to start with my Valentine making me breakfast in bed, and we'd stay in bed all day watching movies, then we'd go for dinner and do whatever the guy wanted to do, like play COD or watch sports, anything he wanted to do we would do that night.
7. Red or pink lips on Valentines Day? I don't really know, probably pink because it is more subtle
8. What is your ideal Valentine's Day date outfit? Probably a flowy dress and wedges, I know that's a really summery outfit, but I like it anyway
9. Home-made or store-bought gifts? I don't mind store-bought, like I said before you can't go wrong with chocolates. To be perfectly honest I'd be happy with just chocolate for Valentines day, I don't even need to do anything. If I ever have a boyfriend on Valentines day, I'm gonna make sure he knows that, besides, I think your anniversary is a better Valentines day. Save all your Valentines day plans until then, it'll mean more.
10. Would you wear your hair up or hair down for a date night? Down, I tend to wear my hair down when I go out.

That's it. I hope you enjoyed this post. As I said before, I tag you all to do this.

Have a beautiful day

Dream beautiful dreams; live beautiful lives

Kim's book corner - Hana and Annabel

Hey girls, I hope you're all well.

Here is another book review for you all. These were very short stories, hence why you've had 2 so close together. Wednesday's post will not be book related, I promise.

I hope you liked this video, let me know what you thought in the comments below.

January empties

Hey girls, I hope you're all well.

About a week ago, I decided I wanted to share with you all everything I use up in a month. Now because I decided this only a week ago, anything I used up beforehand, I binned, so aren't in the picture. Luckily though, I remember what they were so have been able to get pictures online for you all.
I just want to warn you, I take ages to use up a product, so some months might not have very much, so I decided I would also include candles, and maybe even food that I've really loved that month (although probably not the food) I would include books I've read, but you get a review of that as soon as I've finished it anyway.

Onto my January empties:

My thoughts on each product:

Radox bubble bath: This is so luxurious, and moisturising, but I found that I needed a lot to generate enough bubbles, although that might just be me, because I always have problems with bubble bath. Did anyone else have this problem?

Nivea deodorant: What can I say about this really? It's deodorant  it does what it says on the tin. It does work for up to 48 hours, which is good if you can be a little bit lazy and skip a shower occasionally  which I do do during holidays (just being honest here)

Lacura cotton wool pads: What I love about these is that they have a smooth side and a slightly ridged, rougher side, which is great for exfolating. I use the smooth side to take off my eye make-up and the rougher side to apply my toner. I got them from Aldi in 2 pack for about £1.50 (don't quote me, I could be completely wrong) and I highly recommend them.

Vitamin E body butter: I didn't really like this that much, I found it slightly drying, which is obviously not what you want in a body butter. I don't know if I'm allergic/sensitive to it (I do tend to be allergic/sensitive to products designed for sensitive skin) or if it's just the product. I have the eye cream, and I have no problems with that, so I don't know.

Yankee Candle votive in Mulled wine: Oh. My. Word. This smells amazing! I got this in a set for Christmas and felt that the scents had mingled together in the box, and didn't smell so good, but when being burnt, it smelt amazing! Obviously this is a Christmas scent, so I did burn it at the beginning of the month. Don't expect any more from this set for quite a while, but don't worry, I did get a lot of candles for Christmas, and I'm sure they will make an appearance throughout the year.

That's all my empties for this month. I guess this is almost a favourites post, but not, if that makes sense. Anyway I hope you liked it.

Have a beautiful day

Song of the day: Stuck like glue by Sugarland (it's such an upbeat song)

Ins and Outs | January 2013

Hey girls, I hope you're all well.

Sorry this wasn't posted yesterday, I'm really sick, and didn't even bother logging onto my computer yesterday. But I wanted to get this up for you today, I will also write today's planned post today, and have that ready for tomorrow for you guys.
I don't have many, but here are January's Ins and Outs.

Ins:

  1. Revenge! I love love love this show! I think Emily and Charlotte are my favourite characters
  2. Reading. I feel like I've been reading non-stop this month, which is nice. I love having my reading mojo back.
  3. Movies. I have been watching so many movies this month. If I'm not reading, or studying, I'm watching a movie. In fact I want to go and watch a movie right now, but I'm catching up on YouTube videos instead.
  4. Country music. I've always loved country music, but this month I've become so incredibly obsessed, particularly with Luke Bryan. I'm even looking into joining a Line Dancing class!
  5. Socialising. This one probably sounds really lame to some of you, but I am ridiculously socially awkward, and so shy, that I find it difficult to socialise with people, but this year, I decided I wasn't going to avoid as many social situations any more, and say yes to more things. And I've definitely done that, I've joined a society at my university and planned a night out (which I wasn't able to go to because of me being so sick) and I've been loving it!
Out:

  1. Sleeping. I've had so much trouble sleeping lately, it really sucks, I'll get into bed exhausted, but then take hours to actually fall asleep! It's ridiculous!

I actually can't think of anything else that is an out, because I didn't do my list thing this month. I'll do better next month, I promise.

What are your Ins and Outs of January? Let me know.

Have a beautiful day

Dream beautiful dreams; live beautiful lives

xx

What I am listening to/watching right now: YouTube videos, like I said before, I'm trying to catch up and all the videos are really long so it's taking a while.
Song of the day: Our God by Chris Tomlin I went to bed with it in my head, and I love it a lot!

New years resolutions update #1

Hey girls, I hope you're all well.

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while, I haven't been well, and still am, so haven't felt up to writing anything. But seeing as it is the beginning of a new month, I thought I would update you all on how I'm doing with my new years resolutions.

Just a quick reminder to what my resolutions were:

  1. Be healthier.
  2. Be more eco-friendly.
  3. Take more pictures.
  4. Get a job, then move out of my parents house.
  5. Organise my time better.
Now onto how I'm doing, are you ready? :-P

  1. This is a bit I'm doing great, but I'm also doing terrible. Now by this I mean I'm exercising pretty much everyday, (I think I only missed 4 days out of the entire month) but I've not been eating the healthiest. My meals have been healthy, but my snacks haven't. I am trying really hard to work on this, but it's been a bit of a fail this month. Hopefully next month I'll be saying I did great.
  2. I have definitely been doing this! I make sure everything that can be recycled gets recycled, and I've also been switching everything off when I'm not using it. I haven't done anything about a compost heap yet, but I'm still thinking about it.
  3. I haven't really had the chance to do this, but I do try and capture the moment a bit more often, just maybe not often enough.
  4. I have applied for jobs, and I need to make a call about a job, so that's exciting. The moving out bit is obviously on hold for right now.
  5. I feel I have definitely worked on this pretty well. What I do now is make sure I do at least an hour of work for each module I have work for, a day, so between 1-4 hours a day, and if I haven't done this, I don't allow myself to read my book (unless I'm on the bus) This works really well, because I'm always wanting to read, and it is a huge form of procrastination for me. I'm still procrastinating, but I feel like I'm not doing it as much. I have more ideas on working on this for the next month, so check back next month to see how it works.
How are you all doing with your new years resolutions? I'd love to know, let me know.

Have a beautiful day

Dream beautiful dreams; live beautiful lives
